What type is your wife?
What type is your wife?
1. Kid-wife: The wife who is still the kids of her parents. She will talk to her mother at least once every two hours. Whether the husband knows it or not, even the dinner menu is decided by the mother who might be sitting 1000 miles away from them.
2. Traditional wife: The one who grew up in an environment where her father used to beat her mother, where her brother had all the facilities and she was deprived. And now who wants to take revenge from you because her family had been unfair to her.
3. Romantic wife: The wife whose romance is sustained only till the time you buy expensive gifts for her. She expects to fly business class even if that means that you have to take a personal loan from your employer to pay the EMI of the house that you bought in her name.
4. Modern wife: The one who has dozens of boys as friends. She is never there when you come back from work (She does not have to work because you are there to work like a donkey to support her).
5. Liberal wife: The liberated soul who has realized that husband is a free ATM machine. She does not have any obligations in marriage, only the rights. And she knows very well how to threaten you to send money to sponsor her sibling’s education.

Multicolored warning before China earthquake
Bizarre colorful (luminous/glowing) cloud phenomenon in the sky was observed about 30 minutes before the massive earthquake hit the China’s Sichuan province on 12th May, 2008. This was recorded in Tianshui, Gansu province 450km northeast of epicenter, by someone using a cell phone.
If only someone could read such natural forewarnings, the catastrophe could have been avoided. Or, at least the death toll of 60,000+ could have been reduced!
Virginity quotient
An interesting report appeared in Reuters on the findings of a recent survey published in the Journal of Adolescent Health. The survey was about the sexual practices of U.S. teens. One of the queer observations of the report is that: “There is a widespread belief that teens engage in non-vaginal forms of sex, especially oral sex, as a way to be sexually active while still claiming that, technically, they are virgins.”
Perhaps they had attributed virginity to vaginal participation in sex, or lack of it. On this score any sexual activity on other anatomical cleavages (mostly oral and anal) does not technically disturb the status of virgin as such. Great conclusion indeed!
It can be concluded that O + A < V. Are you with me?

Terrorism and India
Rediff.com poses a very pertinent question, “Is terrorism becoming as common as a case of theft?” in its well-documented essay with an outrageous title, “In India, we don’t catch terrorists“!

Children and science
Surprisingly children show exemplary scientific temper and spirit of inquiry, given a chance!
Here is a set of scientific musings of school children peppered with humor and creativity!
To explain nuclear reactions, one child said, “When they broke open molecules, they found they were only stuffed with atoms. But when they broke open atoms, they found them stuffed with explosions.”
Concerning astronomy, one child said, “Most books now say our sun is a star. But it still knows how to change back into a sun in the day-time.” And another said, “Some people can tell what time it is by looking at the sun. But I have never been able to make out the numbers.”
“Vacuums are nothings,” said a young physics student. “We only mention them to let them know we know they’re there.”
“Evaporation gets blamed for a lot of things people forget to put the top on,” one child observed.
“Rain is often known as soft water, oppositely known as hail,” reported a budding meteorologist. Another added, “Thunder is a rich source of loudness.”
Other children added these observations: “Isotherms and isobars are even more important than their names sound.” And, “It is so hot in some places that the people there have to live in other places.” And, “The wind is like the air, only pushier.”
These children have a way to go in their quest for more knowledge, but I applaud their efforts to learn more about the universe.
(The source of the aforesaid snippets has slipped out of my memory. I’ll be glad to acknowledge it if someone cares to point it out to me.)
It is time our parents and educationists imbibe a craving for pure science in the minds of children and provide a space for experimentation and error.
