Beauty really lies only in the eyes. That is the reason the Hindu goddesses are eulogized with reference to their eyes. Lotus-like eyes is the popular metaphor used – Meenakshi, Visalakshi, Kamakshi etc. (Aksha = eye). Even men carry names on eyes: Varijakshan, Aravindakshan, Rajivakshan &c.
