Listen to this teensy-weensy song in quintessential Kalyani Raga by GNB, the Prince Charming of Carnatic music!

I wish to share with you two songs by the Greatest of the Great singer of yesteryears, the inimitable GNB (G.N.Balasubramaniyam)!

  1. This kriti is in the Raga “Abhogi” - “Manasu Nilba” by Saint Thiyagaraja:

  2. This is a scintillating delivery in a racy style of the song, “Sapasya Kausalya” of Panchapakesa Sastri in the Raga “Jonpuri”

Enjoy!

I stumbled upon a wonderful web site with truckloads of Carnatic music streaming at lightning speed!

It has other types of music genre too aplenty.

A must-visit site for music lovers.

Here it is: www.udbhava.com.

Enjoy!

Here are a couple of samples of GNB’s scintillating voice.

  1. “Paramukha melara” sung by GNB in the Raga “Surutti” and Adi Tala. A Thyagaraja kriti.
  2. “Manasu nilpa sakthi” sung by GNB in the Raga “Abhogi” and Adi tala. Another Thyagaraja kriti.

You can also view and download GNB’s music from my teensy site on GNB (courtesy Srini) at the following URL:

Here is another one (as a Proof of Concept!).
This piece of Carnatic Music in Thamizh (Tamil) is set in 26 Ragas with the names of ragas voiced as part of the lyric.
“Odam” (Boat) is a Ragamalika of 26 Ragas string like a diamond necklace, rendered by Mambalam Sisters with their sweet voice.

The file for download is here.

This piece of carnatic music is provided purely for enabling appreciation of carnatic music. No commenrcial use is permitted.

Mambalam SistersI have an audio clip here. It is an invocation on Lord Ganesha sung by Mambalam Sisters, the famous carnatic music duo.

The RSS feed (enclosure) for the audio file is working! I tested it just now with iPodder :)

There is a short but adequate tutorial on use of Podcasting in Wordpress by Cris J Davis here.

If you are stuck in your attempt, please give me a holler.
