Thunderbird blues
Now that I have started cohabiting with Firefox, I thought the natural corollary is to try out Thunderbird. But I find that setting up SMTP server is a real pain in Thunderbird. In OE, you can finish the account settings (as well as selection of authorisation) in a tabbed dialog box with POP and SMTP server params on a single pane . But TB asks for only POP server address and assumes SMTP server as that of the default mail account. And you have to go to “Advanced” set up to assign the SMTP server. Besides, the password management is skewed and painful. The program assumes so many things that you get to know of them only after it screws up things.
Hope these issues have been highlighted already and the developers are siezed of them.
