Copious broadband
I, sitting and praying for a measley 64 kbps (assured) pipe, am turning dark green while reading the following posting in PC World’s Tecklog. Look at the luxury that the folks perched on Uncle Sam’s laps enjoy:
I have been using Comcast for over 2 years. My rated speed is 4000kbps or 4mbps. I usually get about 4100kbps on a regular basis.
My connection is extremely reliable and it has only been down about 2 times in the past 2 years for a total of no more than 3 hours for both times together.
I wouldn’t use DSL if they paid me. I love Comcast and I’m sticking with it.
The nice thing about Comcast is this:
Reliability and value. I got Comcast when the speed was 1500kbps. The price: $42.95 a month.
They then jumped me to 3000kbps. The price: $42.95 a month.
Now my speed is rated at 4000kbps. The price: $42.95 a month.
Speed has increased, reliability is the best I’ve ever seen, and the price has remained the same.
Who can beat that?
Ok, when shall we, living in India have such a Thoroughbred in our stable?
- Yahoo acquires Dialpad.com
- Googlinglish
Folks, let me rub some salt here.
I have Deluxe DSL at home…down very very few times in the last 2 years. 34$ a month. Amazing speed.!.
I am not sure when India would be able to offer its citizens all this…but Looks like things are looking up.
Yep, looking up, but at snail’s pace.
Broadband is at the lowest end of the band spectrum!
May be the competition will make the providers to improve.
Meanwhile Dishnet claims to bring in WiMax. Dunno what rabbit the younger Ambani sibling will spring up.
Till then we will actively do what we are best at – prayer, of sourse!
OT: S.K. I blogrolled you 🙂
